I just applied to my compiled blender, and it makes all text more readable. It just works great, like magic. It should definitely be in.

well, at least the bug serves well as a workaround, I shouldn't have filed the bug :). Anyway, I'm glad the viewport is going to get some love, now that Mike Erwin is on the boat too. Now, options that affect viewport, are all spread across the UI. Good luck!
I don't think it should be tagged as BGE. Other than my personal interest, as it affects my workflow with 2.5D interfaces and characters, It is a problem with cycles, whose workaround is a setting in the BGE. It should be exposed in cycles, since it affects its viewport.

Yes it is set to click, and it seems to enter to edit mode an exit very quickly. I have tried with factory defaults and with pies addon disabled, and it happens the same
I have tested the build, and I can't switch context with the Tab key. Sticky works well, but the normal click doesnt change the mode.
Also, holding some combinations (like shift+spacebar) toggles very quickly the manipulator. This also happens in normal builds, but now that held keys are part of the normal user interaction, these should be taken care of.

I've found some similar issues. It seems that viewport doesn't draw the objects in the correct Z order, so this bug happens. But it draws the selected one the last, and that is why it seems to be correct with the object selected.

Thanks. I'm a developer, trying to learn blender code (fiuu, thats a tough one). I'm also interested in mograph in blender, so expect more of these finickies from me (sorry :( )
But, I'll try to read your commits, so I can't help in the future to make blender more mograph friendly.

In 2.71 (2a514f8), you can't jump to keyframes of active objects, if you have another object selected, even with the option "Only keyframes from Selected channels".
