Reset did not help. And this issue is same for all Themes in User Pref.

Yes, it is default. And I dint change Theme Setup. Will try Reset (tomorrow) if that differs from Defaults > Load Factory Setting, but it happened also on 2.91 that was freshly downloaded without copying previous setting.

It is going to be interesting, how many bug reports (and Troy's patience to explain the issue) is needed to get priority enough to find solution for this thing.

@Clément Foucault (fclem) thanks for care, but since this machine is from 2009 (we can probably close it).
Official state is support for 10 years old machine (even last possible OS is from 2016), so it is a shame (for my home activity) but I can understand that.

Works in a glance under OSX, at least from 2.81a

One of my goal was to meshing volumes (that could be done with particles generated from density with Metaballs assistance in 2.79 https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/181773/meshing-a-smoke-simulation/182438#182438 ), but since this way is completely buggy (due the lag of particle refresh and reassigning the Voxel Data issue) it makes voxel animation impossible in 2.79 and inaccessible in 2.83 for now, right?
Thank you for answer (I thought its dead link here so I doubled my question here https://developer.blender.org/T73201 sorry for that.
Any plans to access voxel data for particle system? Like to control density of VDB animation. Thank you for more info.

One thing that is lost is Volume texture for particle system. Or does exist some another way (now with Volume Object type) to generate particle cloud from voxel texture now?

I agree with consistency, but ... there is zero visual difference between selected vs active here.
How could you discover that?
Only click on curve or channel bring it active (visually it looks the same).
It didnt become active even a pasted keyframes.

This bug seems to be valid until minimum requirement is os 10.12 (as you provided).
I don't want to catch you by word, but to mark this bug as invalid consider adjust minimum to 10.13 as well.

OK, upgrade to Mojave solved the issue to run Blender 2.83, but ...
... now I see what was the main reason I didn't want to upgrade OS - CUDA is not supported. Blender don't see my card anymore, so only CPU rendering from now ...
@Ankit jain (Ankit) Thank you for answer. I used 2.82 (or some of first 2.83) and any lower version without any issue under Darwin 16.7 up to now.

Hmm ... how could I skipped that ... sorry ... created a new task T75211 with requested info. Thank you

Ah. Thank you. Since all 2.83 series crash at my home comp I had no chance to check.

With today build Blender 2.83 Alpha March 02, 08:49:03 - e0ffb911a22b

OK official 2.82 works fine.
So since I posted at the same day crash on Eevee (for this 2.83 build) it seems to be related to my graphics card.
So probably ignore it for now.
Feb 21 2020
2.83 alpha from February 20, I'm not on my comp for a few days so I can't provide release code, but I don't expect changes for today version that is blender-2.83-94e180bd806a-macOS that can make difference since fix commit is from January 21
Sorry for not being clear. I have to Force Quit from Finder (OP edited).
Yes it happens with any file, even with empty scene.
Feb 20 2020
Hm ... tested with today build - when I start to pan around it is there, but only from top view (or any other direct axis), doesnt matter if perspective or orthographic any other angle is solid when I dont move with a scene.

You have disabled "Show Overlays". Enabling it - select / deselect go to edit mode ... works for me.

Can be closed, solved with 2.81a update. Thank you :)

Since "Origins" (viewport overlay) enabled - objects starts to work (selection, visibility) as expected.
Disabling this option bring back issue in your document.
Since another Mball is added (doesn't matter if as a new object or in edit mode of first Mball object)
objects still dissapears from vieport but if I click on some object visible (or in place of invisible object) in viewport (like camera, lights Mball) all objects become visible again and also mesh objects in a scene can be selected again as well.

Is it file specific behaviour or does it happen with new file too?
I have a problem with similar symptoms https://developer.blender.org/T70516
Did you touch metaball object in your process?
Oct 4 2019
other two macs the same behaviour
Yes, Factory Defaults. This is not file specific, any new blend created works that way. I can try on two other macs I have acces, no PC on board at the moment test with Win.

Seems like I can join with this proposal . . . That comes from practicle reason, if you try to eliminate borders of buttons to make them less prominent you loose visual connection between elements. In this example easily solved by moving text to left.

Add "New Preset" - why to clutter list with field for new preset? Original purpose looks more clear and natural - I want to add so - click plus / name it / click anywhere to confirm. In this way works material so it would be just consistent behaviour.
It should appear when hovering the item, not the icon only, otherwise a lot of people will just never notice it's there.

Do we really need delete symbol "–" on each row? Isn't it more pleasant to let this symbol appeared on mouse-over?

These icons, because they use single pixel lines, can only be scaled well at certain increments. They work well with retina displays @2x too, but probably not so much @1.3x
@Andrzej Ambroz (jendrzych) Modifier list without icons +1 for me (faster to scan). I wasn't sure about properties panel, but from this gif example still looks like good way.
Jul 3 2018
I don't know if this discussion about icon size and sharpens based on pixel precise make any sense. Blender's "User preferences" has "Interface > Display > Scale" function. Icons can be any size. Doesn't matter if they are 12 or 16 or 32 (or whatever). The only one thing that can be taken into account by developers is space around each icon (%), so they are not visually merged.

1 - Hard to say what "weird behaviour". In terms of consistency it make a more sence to have it here as well. Benefit is the same as in any other editor. What doesn't make a sence is ability to change region background alpha for "File Browser" editor and whole region values for "Timeline" editor - region there doesn't exists so why to give theme controlers? But OK this is probably task for 2.8

That's exactly what I did yesterday.
- downloaded daily build
- moved whole folder 2.79 from Application Support
- downloaded addon available from cloud, installed
Here it is, just a note when I started now from terminal I was still logged in (by official 2.79b version) and I tried to open cloud from image editor, or should I log out first?
Thanks for reliance :) but what the hell is "start the build with all debugging options on"? :) Sorry, simple designer on this side of cable.
I would like to help you, but be a bit more descriptive for me, thank you. I will try my best.
In folder "site-packages" is only "easy_install.py"
Filtering with blender's file browser displayed only this file containing SSL.
