Jumping in to add that we absolutely need this for production. Working on feature film characters and adding sculpt details after a character is textured is proving to be impossible.

Here's the Blend file

Yeah I tried disabling AO. Made no difference in my case. Nan pixels still there.
I see this is marked as Resolved. I'm still getting these artifacts on the latest 2.93 Beta build from 4/15. What was the solve?

Seeing this marked as resolved but I'm seeing the same behavior here on 2.9 beta. Baking noise makes sim completely go away.

Any movement on this?

Also discovered that duplicating an object with cloth settings will not maintain the cache settings by set them back to default.

I think it would have to be such that the rotation method would have to change first before the bake.
Mar 3 2020
Is there a way that changing the rotation form Euler to Quaternion before baking could be a toggle, or a global setting? I have an Alembic scene from C4D, many many objects, and I baked all the Alembic constraints in one go with Bake Action, but because of the Eurler rotation gimble lock it caused motion blur errors everywhere. So I'm now having to go object by object, change the rotation to Quaternion, and then bake. This fixes the issue, but it takes what was a one Action move, and is now taking half the day to accomplish.

Downloaded the latest build -- rBd58e80b4c6cb -- still no render result in Eevee.

Updated to the latest version of Cryptomatte 1.2.5 and still no luck over here getting a Cryptomatte out of Blender. Still says it's missing the manifest.
Feb 11 2020
Downloaded the build from GraphicAll and imported a VDB and everything works in the viewport with Eevee, but when I try to render a frame with Eevee I don't get the expected result. There is no volume.
Feb 7 2020
Right. In my case though, even out of the Main Output it's still missing the manifest.
Feb 6 2020
On a scene I'm currently trying to debug the Cryptomatte EXRs aren't working even if the render is coming from the Output pane. The Cryptomatte does work in the Blender compositor, but in Fusion I get the error about the missing manifest.
Feb 5 2020
I just did a render from the Output section with Cryptomatte activated and I get the same Fusion fail lacking the manifest metadata as the poster above.
Having the same issue here in a studio pipeline.

Agreed with the above. Was just doing some texture painting and undo'ing the stroke would literally get rid of my texture altogether, forcing me to have to import it again and again.
