Here is the file just before doing the last step

I have reviewed both links you have mentioned, and I believe I have provided sufficient information as per the template and guidelines. All required information is present, the steps are clear and concise, and I cannot produce a file in the final state, due to the crash occurring.

Chris Cook (CCook) added a comment to T49125: Add interference effects to glossy and glass shaders.

After reading through this I thought I would add that there should be a more artistic way to get reasonably accurate results with inputs of color, thickness, and roughness. I've played with this idea, but not having the technical understanding @Robert M (prutser_) has, I didn't create a shader with the physical attributes. I guess the implementation will depend on striking the right balance of ease of use to accuracy and flexibility.

Chris Cook (CCook) changed the status of T50549: Lack of total internal reflection in refract from Unknown Status to Resolved.

Thanks for the insight, @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht), it hadn't occurred to me that it would be used for that, but it makes sense, as its current values mean a diffuse/glossy mix looks the same on both sides.

I would prefer to eventually remove the Refractive BSDF node, since it's not possible to use it in a physically correct way.

Okay. I have been playing with adding dispersion to refractive materials, both with node groups and with OSL, and both methods rely on the Refraction BSDF to work. It has been a goal of mine to get glass looking better in cycles (at the expense of samples)

I understand your point of view and agree that this function shouldn't be changed after reading your comment.
