One thing I would argue for, is the ability to disallow proxy data form being cached. As they're already optimised for fast decode they really shouldn't need to be cached (especially when primarily doing temporal editing).
But my concern is that they will over use resources that would benefit other types of strips (strips that: can't be proxied or those generated in Blender).

This was done as part of bugfix (rB537292498324) and I am not sure if it should be changed. Also off-topic a bit :)

Are you proposing to remove the Cache Settings panel entirely? Or is the plan only to change the default settings and behavior so that there is less need to tweak these settings?

Remove entirely. I do not see any editor to go and really fine-tune settings for a specific project. You would need to come with really strong argument to move me from the option extermination mode ;)

Could you run blender_debug_gpu.cmd (in the main Blender folder), make Blender crash as described in the report and upload the blender_debug_output.txt and blender_system_info.txt?
It will help the developers debug the issue if they can't reproduce it immediately.

Whist T59951 kind of got fixed by completely removing the overlap it didn't fix the fact that there was not transparency.
This, among other things, means that the people who edit with a backdrop (like the Director of Cosmos Laundromat and I) have to put up with a smaller and off centre preview with wasteful space in the sidebar.

I have disabled region overlap in 2.80 I think, because it obscured preview when you pressed home button.

Why the need to focus on the test style?
That is one of three ways to enlarge elements and it's obviously not working not working very well. You've already been told why.
You can fix the issue with the other methods, why not do that why you ignore me and call me wrong not show me what i ask i try to help

I don't understand, I've said how to make the Text/UI larger in a readable way. (like in my screenshot)
You need to at least try changing these settings to get the closest you can to what you need.
"make height to be fit while enlarge text" that setting is the main scaling slider and I've told you how to use it.

I would hazard a guess that there is a some limiter on for the vorbis video encode.

When the number of channels is changed, the total power (not amplitude) is kept at the same level.
...merging stereo to mono, the power of the two stereo channels is added and not averaged. This approach is volume preserving and is also what OpenAL does, though Blender doesn't use OpenAL to do this in the sequencer.

@Joerg Mueller (nexyon) can clarify, but I think this is working as intended...

What was the sigh for?
In your first image (F8704680) some of the the names are already overlapping. This happens at every scaling setting and is just a function of having the text anchored to the bone. Just zooming in to add some distance between them is all you need to do.
Else, what are you proposing?

A lot of editors can be interdependently scaled with ctrl+MMB (or what ever the equivalent is on mac)
Did you know you can set the resolution scale up to 4.00? It needs to be manually entered (the scroll is clamped up to 2.00)
With that I can't see any overlapping when I up the font styles to 22, does that help?

@Moustafa (mnhht) okay, does one of them show activity when you render (with Eevee)?
Do they show up in Preferences --> System --> Cycles Render Devices? (just to see if they're identified correctly)
And is there a difference between 2.82 and 2.83 for the above questions?

Ahh, I see now. This is a quirk with having rendered images displayed in a new window, can even reproduce in 2.75a (when Stereoscopy was introduced):


Stereo 3D (display mode) is done per window. When a new window is created (in this case for rendering) the stereo display mode defaults to Red-Cyan Anaglyph (and you can't simply add an info editor to change the view).

@Frankie Hobbins (Frankieh) I'm not quite sure I understand your last sentance in the report.
The handling of the final stereo format is done when saved (as set in the output properties) and not when rendered.
If you're referring to how the stereo image as displayed in the editor(s) then there is a separate setting for display mode in Window --> Set Stereo 3D.

Hmm, what happens when you add the rendered file back in to the sequencer?
Could you check what it does in another media player?
I can't seem to recreate the issue even with your file.

Ah, I see what you mean, but I can't see how that's happening, unless there is an offset like this:

To my knowledge annotations don't behave like that, though I could be mistaken.
But I've asked @Antonio Vazquez (antoniov) to clarify what should exactly be the case.
I closed as duplicate as it looked to be the same underlying cause as T63481.

It's a known issue, the only work around is to make seperate annotation layers for each node group currently

Vertex colours need to have, at least, material shading in order to be viewed. By default scene strips are in solid shading mode. You can change this in Scene Strip Display in the sidebar.

The need to shut it off during various operations

So would a solution be to have options for its behaviour? I mean you've got an amount of granularity with, say, the cache, in terms of its functionality. But also its behaviour; you can key the different cache levels to be active/inactive for specific frame ranges. Unfortunately you can't do this with the global stuff: Prefetch frames and Cache Setting (ISS I Am Looking At You). But alas I'm probably the only one who has ever done this, but still you should try it to see if it helps your workflow.
I don't know if having a preference is worth the work, but I wouldn't complain if a sub-panel showed up with a list of various conditions. But thinking about it, the code would have to be in place for it to be disabled, so having it be an option doesn't sound like too much.
