@Nicholas Rishel (nicholas_rishel) Both mouse and tablet seem to work fine, but I did notice when I just opened up Blender that the mouse portion seemed to not work, but I can't reproduce that anymore to confirm.

I am with the others on this. Make it behave similarly to the UI. In all my years of using any art program, being able to affect your brush settings by using undo/redo has never been a thing. If the user wants to change the brush settings they can do it manually, not through some strange unintuitive system where the settings behave like some form of operator like a regular brush stroke.

I think it would be good consider that certain tools are available through modifiers that can be changed during work. I.e. ctrl modifier allows you to pick Mask Brush/Lasso/Box/Line, Hide Lasso/Box/Line, Trim Lasso/Box/Line, etc.,etc. Same for shift for smoothing tools and sharpening tools. Being able to use the shift version of Slide Relax with Autosmooth (much better surface smooth than current surface smooth imo), the shift version of smooth face sets boundaries, mask smoothing from the Mask Brush, Surface Smooth, and also the new intensify details setting for the Smooth Brush using alt among others with any brush would be an absolutely fantastic feature.

I concur. It's next to impossible to do any testing on anything more complex than the simplest of geometry because of this bug. If I use the latest builds for a typical project, the software inevitably becomes unresponsive and freezes.

I would like to add to my previous comment regarding point 4. Another reason that having a list for your brush list sets on top the regular global brush list is because it allows Blender to have its own default brush packages which can be constantly tinkered with by the developers without necessarily affecting personal brush lists. That way you can always guarantee a certain level of standard from version to version and more advanced users will be more happy with their custom sets of brushes.

Any news on when this will land in master? The current method of adapting the base mesh to the high poly mesh is really not up to snuff. Right now I have to do really complicated workarounds where I apply the modifier to the mesh and then rebuild all the subdivisions to get the results needed to have proper baking done. It really needs to be high priority for the next release.
