I uploaded two files. One is about the roughness issue.
Another one is still about the parametric and area lights. If an object doesn't have any material, an area light with light map still looks like two trangles. The light spread in this file is set to 1° in order to show the texture.

@Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) Sorry, that's my misjudgement. I think maybe the reason that causes the geometry hair showing black artifacts is the algorithm of transparency depth. But I still don't understand why I need 15 or more ray depth to clear the artifacts even there are only 10 layers of transparent object.

@Riccardo Fasoli (fasoric) Yes, the hair planes have 2 copies overlapping. And one of them the normal is flipped.
This is a game model. I think using this geometry hair technique is to achive the effect that the hair is perfect from most of the angle of the view.
I'm not sure if it will be a problem that geometry hair has intersection.

As this video, lazy connect is confused when connecting raycast node. And it should connect the float curve node with the value port, but it goes factor port.

I don't quite understand how to set IME's status to "中“ automatically. Manually switching the IME's mode, I can't reproduce this issue with MS-IME either.
I suspect the ctrl, alt, shift key may have something to do with this problem.

@Robert Guetzkow (rjg) I tested 2 times. The first time blender crashed. The second time it didn't crash but when I was clicking around the blank space, blender was not responding and the operation didn't create new NURBS points but the effect like the picture below.

@NXSK (NXSK) based on the stack trace this appears to crash in graphics driver (nvoglv64.dll). Could you please check if either installing a newer driver version or previous driver version prevents the crash from happening?

I'm unable to reproduce this with Blender 2.92.0, branch: master, commit date: 2021-02-24 16:25, hash: rB02948a2cab44 or current master branch. Is there any particular step that might be missing in your instructions?

Please open Blender's installation directory and double click on the blender_debug_gpu.cmd. This will start Blender in debug mode and create log files. Try to make Blender crash again. Once it crashes the Windows Explorer should open and show you up to two files, a debug log and the system information. Add them to your bug report by clicking on the upload button as shown in the screenshot below or via drag and drop. Please also upload the crash log located in C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Temp\[project name].crash.txt (or simply type %TEMP% into the path bar of the Windows Explorer).

Sorry for the late reply, I only saw this recently.
You seem to be reporting two different bugs here, but I can't reproduce either of them (even using 2.83.1).
Could you see if the bugs are still present in 2.90?
I develop on Linux, so this could be a Windows only bug, so I'll see if I can reproduce it on Windows in a bit.

This is a known limitation of branch path tracing on the GPU, it can time out because the path takes too long to compute. For now this is not considered a bug, solving it will require a different rendering algorithm.

No. This is nothing to do with the subdivision surface modifier. If the normal is smoothed, the shading from viewer angle should be smooth, without any light breakups.

I think it might be the problem that robert says. And this issue might be there for a long time.

For your situation, only one HDR for light. I tried and don't see any light break problem. Maybe the texture is not perfectly seamless?
For me it only appear for built-in lights with low subdivision geometry.

When I'm working with a model that a bit complexer with a subdivision modifier, the editing becomes slow. This bothers me a lot because this is a very common situation. I think this performance issue should have a higher priority to solve.

I think dynatopo is extremely useful in the early sculpting stage. When the base form is done, maybe I will remesh it with voxel or quad to proceed. Zbrush's sculptris pro has the same functionality as dynatopo and it warns users that in this mode some features will not be accessable. So I think if there is a better tool can do the same thing as dynatopo, we can accept that. If not, maybe to optimize dynatopo is a better way.
