Since not a bug in 2.83, it can be closed. If it appears later in 2.83, please report back. Thanks!
Make sure accessibility settings are not interfering: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/27928/windows-10-make-windows-easier-to-see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4344736/windows-10-use-color-filters
Oh yeah, misunderstood that part. Segmentation fault: 11
On 2.83, it doesnt crash. I tried both esc ⎋ and in another test, using cross. macOS here.
On default setup, it doesn't crash on 2.83 if I type mesh.loop and press tab, it gives two green options s and _triangles. I enter _ and hit tab, correctly autocompletes.
Are you using some other file? Please attach that. Also try on 2.83, get it from https://builder.blender.org
The ones you're trying to import
Could you attach a simple file to redo the bug? Does it happen with the default setup file too ?
Could you add simple files, to help debug the issue, to the report please?
P.S.: T73825 is about export failing, though could be unrelated.
See my comment on T73992
- Does it happen in 2.81 or 2.82?
- Add the full error message.
- Complier errors are normally not valid bugs, rather programming errors. sites like blender.stackexchange.com, blender.community, stackoverflow.com should be able to help
- self is not a variable to be used outside a class
Oh wait, I think OP is talking about "the cursor", the one that sits at the origin, by default
Docs and hovering over it says "..when available"
- Try latest release, 2.82.
Please attach a simple blend file showing the bug.
@Jarkko Kainulainen (Semperdux) Try with 2.82 release, also post a screenshot of power saver preferences.
No issues .. Could be a glitch! (:
Add steps to repro the bug, and if it is resolved as you say, I am inclined towards closing this. Umm.. @Richard Antalik (ISS) ?
if you're rendering by Eevee, it would be different from what cycles would render. I am not aware of what viewport uses, but try changing render engine. Also, is possible add a blender file to help debug the issue.

D6816 this needs to go in first, then I'll request review here. Sorry for the confusion.
Is it beyond Blender's reach?
https://developer.blender.org/T73914 is this related ?
- do you have any driver updates available ?
- Try after going back to factory settings. File -> Defaults -> Load Factory Settings.
Just to make sure, an edited* default startup file, right ? *:just clicking in viewport makes it so.
browse recent reports to see if you've been doing any of those steps. Search for rB77d23b0bd76f
It is highly vague statement to make: ".. for some reason ..". Please try to isolate the issue, make a screen recording just in case your workflow is getting tedious.
In the end, try to repro the bug with a simple blend file, and simple steps to repro.
Closing till then.
isolation can be done like, driver updates, factory settings, removing all addons etc
Yup.. Unless it changed in 2.82, T72339 [Momentary interface freezes while EEVEE rendering causes progress bar malfunction]:
EEVEE renders in the main thread of blender due to OpenGL limitations. Almost all calls to OpenGL needs to be passed to the driver via the main thread. This halts any other work that is handled by the main thread (python scripts ui updates). Same reason that running python scripts halts UI updates.
The progress status is send to the OS, so here it is updated correctly as the rendering is done by OS threads, not by Blender.
I used to think it is expected..
Blender requires 10.12+ macOS version, Sierra. (https://www.blender.org/download/ hit info) You are at 11 (El Capitan).
You should downgrade to an appropriate version for your usage. Previous versions are at https://download.blender.org/release/
T73786 Grease Pencil – Lines are Pixelated at the Edges
- blender version you're using,
- platform, OS and GPU info
- Run blender_debug_log.cmd, given in the blender directory and attach the two files in tells you to.
apply changes in a revision to the working copy with arc patch
download a patch from Differential with arc export
If this is an add-on, it would be a bit different, but I'm not sure how.. see https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Process/Addons
would it work if you select the whole text? So that you can change the spacing between all characters?

Open blender, Go to Window menu > file a bug to file a bug report that contains the required information. Also, add
- Exact steps to reproduce the bug
- a simple .blend file that demonstrates the bug.
you might be having high samples in Render and Viewport. Reduce them to single digits for faster render. Would it happen then ?
I cannot open the files.. it says missing DNA block
I checked the monster-UDIM and this report seems valid, but I'm not sure if 2.83's bugs can be taken right now or not.
I don't see bake data when red box is "Flow". It comes up only when it is "Domain".
But it crashes two seconds after I click bake data. The folder it makes named "cache_fluid" has two folders "config" and "data". Both are empty.
I am not an expert in this process, so I might be wrong.
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/physics/fluid/type/domain/cache.html#cache This mentions Domain to be the type where you've set Flow. Can you add how you were trying to bake it ?
What are the steps to get the bug ? And what is expected ?
Please post a screenshot to clarify what you're talking about ?

File is indeed corrupt.. can you add the steps that can make normal file buggy, reproducibly ?
Call hierarchy https://pastebin.com/AXbCzJX5
Maybe you need to get focus of the editor you're using the shortcut in.. Can you reliably reproduce the bug? If so, please add the steps for the same.
Also, broken version refers to the blender version you're using. Use Help menu > File a bug to get that info, and edit the task https://developer.blender.org/maniphest/task/edit/73835/
This brings the following error upon Object > Quick effects > liquid.

T51283: It's for macOS, and it's from 2017
We implemented those for windows and linux a while back, would be great to get it for OSX as well,
Does it give you a warning about saving the project ?
@Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) I did find https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/physics/fluid/introduction.html#workflow before closing this, and confirming the other one, but docs mentioned otherwise..
Do you have the latest drivers? See if any update is available, and try again. Also, attach the reports you get by running debug_log_cmd.exe file in the same directory as Blender.
