Summary: If a repository, then one using submodules for a more decentralized character. Else let's encourage to use the shell gather addons and link script, which solves all problems but the one that one coder who might want to automatically commit the same fix for several foreign (not his own) addons too. In this case the busy coder needs to fork each modified addon's repository. Either case leads to only subtly increased workload for the busy coder as the addon is checked out as full or as submodule repository anyway which makes fork->pull request/patch/diff generation easy.

True ... (The 2nd/3rd least redundant case of just maintaining a fork on our personal Github/any other server sites may make it difficult for people to know which now is the newest/fittest version despite the useful x commits ahead, y commits behind fork information on Github.)

Related, a crash in the following deprecated scene, when toggling from Edit mode to Object mode, seems to cause a crash with Boolean modifier (depending on selection or not).

No prob, it's fixed for us. Our art department got a rig working - now can add new unit animations. Yay! That's a big benefit.

Hey GaiaClary, thanks for the effort.
Anyone who can resolve this would be my (& wildfiregames') hero. :) We have troubles with pose bone rotation yet still not could narrow it down enough to file a bug report.

Thank you for support kivig. Once I have time I will get more specific by proposing a patch for the UI side or simply writing a script that automates the blenderCAM configuration.
Tanks dude, have to clean it up. The last comment I can't fulfills for now. I had to debug and understand it properly first before reworking the addon so that it no longer uses the context.
The new developer system is brilliant. Didn't notice this post before. Thanks for clarifying!
