There is no reason to keep both.
With 2.8 you can make autosmooth 180° and mark sharp corners, exactly where you need.

Only sockets on the left block dradding, so active zone (green) looks approximately like this
In short: grab do not work at red zones, slots looking left and all wtring with slot.
But right slots and caption works

With this bug I can`t test Geometry nodes and node editor much.
