I fail to see why the need of a toggle (use_target_weight).
Yes, just add it to a dropdown menu. This dropdown could have the Flip operator, and the obscure Sample Colorramp feature which is great but not used as often as adding/removing (plus it already has the E shortcut for advanced users).

Oh it's not tagged, that's why. I did a search for it with the Blender2.8 tag and found nothing :)

I wonder if a better approach would be to toggle prompt for all kinds of Deletion (Curves, Keys, etc), not only object.

Confirmed. I changed every setting in the theme of the MovieClip and the Dopesheet and couldn't make the text appear. The background of the channel is using the header color (which is bad, it should use the channel or region or list color). Might need to look into the actual drawing code.

This has been a request for ages! Do you think you can make sure the patch works against the latest? A lot has changed since August. It will make it easier for developers to review.

Kind of offtopic: I was thinking we should add the _Cursor Depth_ setting to the topbar as well, but now I just realize Surface Project is the same thing. Shall we rename Cursor Depth in the user preferences so it's consistent? Or is there another difference in the way it works I'm missing? @Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) any ideas?

Yeah something along those lines. What do you think @William Reynish (billreynish) ?
It's not a bug. It's a known limitation with white labels on white background and it's been there for decades way before 2.8 or 2.5 even. Solution would be to add a drop-shadow or gray box around it but it would make it look like dropdowns which are interactive, so it's not that simple.
A verbose message doesn't work, people don't like to read.
Works great! Thanks Campbell! Just did a few panel sorting adjustments myself as well.
