I know what you mean: From the remaining two axes, we can always infer whether we are looking at the +ve or -ve of an axis.
However, for this to work, we have to know all the combinations by heart.
It's not simple at all!

I updated the driver, and now Blender 2.81 runs without any crash.
Kindly close this bug.

I installed V2.80 stable using the msi file.
This version does not crash at all.
I used the File -> Defaults -> Load Factory Setting command.
Then saved the file using File -> Defaults -> Save Startup file command.
Here's the information from the Help >Report a bug.
(But there is nothing new here)

I guess I was not clear about the idea: At present the beveled surface does provide a convex shape (apart from the concave groove). However, it cannot leave the bounding box of the original shape.

oops! I posted this suggestion at PlasmaSolution's (Thomas Beck) SneakPeek video for the new bevel command, and he directed me to contact Howardt. I assumed it must be through this website. Sincere apologies!

Can we hide these tabs? Clutter can be reduced if the selected tabs can be hidden away till they are needed again. Another advantage is that when there are too many tabs, the tabs start showing truncated names. So having fewer tabs means every tab shows its full name.
