@Furkan (furkan161) I think it’s a pretty normal and OS-independent behavior that it lags a lot when creating a mesh with a large number of elements. D4619 addresses a specific issue in macOS’s presentation path and doesn’t magically make everything faster.

Thanks for finding that! you can #ifdef the fix for apple only by using OS_MAC.

Adding a dummy vertex attribute read fixed this issue on my machine (macOS 10.14.4 Beta, Radeon R​9 M295X). It seems like a driver bug triggered by shaders without vertex reads. I submitted the patch as D4490.
