Hello all; I tried the above file in 2.83 release version and 2.9 Alpha (version: 2.90.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-06-24 21:51, hash: rBec776f18ff70).
In 2.83 it behaves the same as my previous test.
In 2.9 Alpha baking the noise makes the smoke completely disappear, as shown below-

Probably should've had this in the repo for T76097: Simulations don't take animated gravity into account as it then could of been taken in to consideration for the refactor.

Looks like this has been solved in rB21485e94aac.
The vorticity thing seems to be a separate issue, I'm not sure if it is a bug. If you think it is, please create a new report just for that. Reusing the same report for two bugs makes things hard to follow.

This looks like the same as T77030: flow simulation element viewport size indicator strange after applying resize, will merge these reports.

damn i accidentally removed my comment, it is also affecting the spray foam and bubble particle systems as well, if you look at the screenshot i only baked 5 frames and then put the frame back to one and it says i have an insane amount of particles.

to get the fluid mesh at right position, the original has to in the exact center of the domain object.
Else the mesh is offset by a margin of origin offset( from center).
