Sybren A. Stüvel (sybren) requested changes to D9455: Cleanup: Remove unused noise functions.

This patch still needs a proper description. According to @Campbell Barton (campbellbarton), it will produce different results. According to the patch description it won't. It should be 100% clear from the patch description what happens, and this should have been tested well (not just "should result in the same animation" based on a quick test). If this changes any animation, it will cause much more headaches than just having some single-use functions.

@pepijn (pepwolf) Could you try to narrow down the issue or at least provide the file that crashes. There are different motion blur system in eevee and maybe it only affect one of them (hair motion blur maybe?).

I've got the same issue, my blender keeps shutting down. Even in EEVEE at this moment lol. Found out that i can render eevee when i disable motion blur. But i've rendered way bigger projects on 2.9 versions and that worked.

It is fine to do an incremental steps towards more proper tool-based UI, and the change seems and motivation seems logical to me. But also share the points Sebastian brought up, so would say that please don't delay the proper tool-ifying project.

However, once we switch to active tool system we have to find a solution where to place the orientation tools anyway. And chances are that the orientation panel will move to the sidebar or some menues anyway.

I have mixed feelings about this.
The scale value is mostly used to adjust the scale of objects after object tracking. In practise you set the value by picking two markers and hit "set scale" in the orientation panel, or simply drag the scale slider, or both.
In the current solution the user immediately sees the effect of this action on the scale value in the same panel. With this patch however the effect of the "set scale" button takes place on the opposite side of the editor (well, and of course the 3d view).
The scale value is more like a tool that the artist can use to match the object size and position to the scene. So with this patch the tools to control the scale are spread across two opposite sides of the editor.
On the other hand, once the user has multiple tracked objects and has to adjust both scale values in order to orient them both in the correct spot in 3d space, it is now easier to quickly switch between the objects and adjust their scales without having to switch them in the sidebar on the right and then tweak the scale value in the toolshelf on the left.
However, once we switch to active tool system we have to find a solution where to place the orientation tools anyway. And chances are that the orientation panel will move to the sidebar or some menues anyway.
So, for the old UI I would be against this patch, but for the new system this could work.

This patch does not seem to be applyable on the latest master branch: there are conflicts in the rna_tracking.c and DNA_tracking_types.h.

The Add-on "3D Viewport Pie Menus" is separate from the pie menu keyboard shortcut integration built into Blender. Please turn off the add-on to reduce the number of pie menus you have.

Personally I find it strange as a system the hdri is an image format it is just in 360 ° but ok
