Your video clip (where the mask was created) has a different aspect ratio than your scene (what you get from VSE), that is why they don't match.

I did some digging, and I can't quickly find any bug that would cause this; it's more a matter of this not being implemented at all. As such, I'm reclassifying this as a Known Issue.

just noticed BKE_animsys_evaluate_animdata should take mask->sfra into account as well (otherwise mask animation [points] and other animation [e.g.opacity] will run out of sync)

I overlooked the start/end settings of the masks before. Thanks for the fix. So for the current build, setting the masks start frame to 0 gets the mask and the VSE back in sync.

Just to add: the actual coordinates dont matter it just always happens from the 3rd point onward on redo...

I assume this is similar to T57939 (in that render pipeline is not covered by DEG)
BKE_animsys_evaluate_all_animation() is already done here as an extra evaluation step.
However mask deformations are not actions, so it seems extra evaluation 'by hand' is needed... see D4140 for a potential fix...

I can reproduce this. When I move around the timeline, I can see the masks updating. And if I hit F12, the mask reflects what I see in the preview.

Alpha sorting was a long-standing 'problem' but it will be fixed in 2.8.
This has been reported a couple of times, see T43093, T51964, T46349, T49376, T44826, T41731

Anti-aliasing happens from the outside side of the spline, which is actually happened to be an inner side of your "buggy" spline. Just switch direction of the spline and anti-alias will work fine.
